Saltwater Films is Clare plueckhahn and Jesse moyes, both experienced underwater operators, divers and ocean lovers.


They’re RAID advanced 35-metre, dry-suit and nitrox qualified, and both hold Surf Bronze Medallions. Together they bring a hands-on, collaborative approach to underwater production with extensive ocean knowledge.


  • Clare is a Director, Producer and Underwater Camera Operator.

    After completing a BA Photography at RMIT, Clare’s love for underwater film making began 15 years ago, working on surf industry projects for Rip Curl, Billabong and Patagonia.

    With experience in all aspects of production and an objective to understand the Director & Director of Photography’s vision for each project she works on, Clare adds value and creativity with every collaboration.

    On projects she works as either an Underwater Camera Operator, Underwater Director of Photography or steps up as a 2nd Unit Director/DOP.

  • Jesse is a Gaffer and Underwater Camera Operator. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast, he is a surfer and diver with a lifelong love of the ocean.

    His CV covers over 25 years in the film industry, from commercials and documentaries to large-scale US productions, as well as having extensive experience in gripping and rigging.

    Jesse can join your project as an Underwater Operator, Underwater Director of Photography, or Housing Technician.
